Wisdom Teeth Surgery

I had oral surgery on Friday to remove all four of my wisdom teeth. Although I have been in pain, it has not been nearly as bad as an experience as I thought it would be. I don't remember much of the beforehand - the sedation pills took care of that. I do remember coming to slightly a couple of times during the surgery and I remember one of the ladies that were assisting the dentist let me hold her hand. The two ladies and the dentist himself were all very comforting and did an excellent job. It's hard to believe I put off this surgery for years because I was scared! I've got to say it is not as bad as you think it will be. Yes, I am still in pain, and yes it sucks, but on the bright side, before too much longer I won't have anymore pain ever again due to my wisdom teeth! :-) So smile pretty!!

Obsession with making lists

So I have to admit, I have an obsession with making lists. I make lists for everything - things to do, projects to make, wish lists, etc, etc. My boyfriend picks on me and says I stress myself out when I make lists of things that I need to get done. I think that making lists helps me to remember what I need to do and helps me to better prioritize. If I can visually see what needs to be done, I can then sort them by the order I need to get them done it. Also, with such a busy life, if I don't write it down, I tend to forget it. Who else makes lists for everything? Share some of the types of lists you make and use regularly!

Necklace Giveaway!!

I am doing my first giveaway. The prize is this beautiful blue and silver necklace made by me! A beautiful grey and silver necklace made of five pieces of ribbon with a silver and blue pendant that has elegant blue and pearl like beads hanging from it. The necklace itself is about 18" with a 1.5" extender. The pendant hangs about 3". This would be a great necklace to dress up a t-shirt and jeans or wear with a dress for a night out on the town!

A Little About Me

Hi!  My name is Katie Penley.  I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in Virginia (which is where I currently reside). I have also lived in North Carolina. I live with my boyfriend, Robert, and our puppy, Bella. She is a very cute lab mix that is almost a year old. She is my spoiled rotten baby girl! My boyfriend and I have an interesting story. We were best friends in middle school, inseparable. I moved my out of state and we kind of lost touch. We would talk at least once or twice a year though. When I moved back to Virginia we got back in contact and picked up like we had never missed a beat. I say that is what you consider meant to be.

I am working on my Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. I am a very busy girl – very determined as well.  I graduated with my Associate in Arts May 2010.  Originally I had planned to go to school to become an ultrasound tech, but due to two wrecks that I was in the end of 2009, I had to choose another field. I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason, so despite all of the hardship I have faced and still am facing due to those wrecks, I am on the right path for my life. I started with AiO in November of 2010.

I have always enjoyed doing anything that allowed me to be creative, so I decided to go into graphic design.  Some of the creative things I enjoy are drawing, editing pictures in Photoshop, crocheting, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, making jewelry, playing guitar, writing poetry and much more!  When I am doing any of these hobbies, I kind of drift away from life and am in a peaceful state.  I am very passionate about expressing myself and being different and my hobbies help me to do that. Doing creative things like drawing has also been a release for me through the years and has helped me get through some tough times. It has also been a way to express my good times.

My love of crafts started when I was a little girl. My family was very involved in church, so I was always doing crafts there. Also, my mom has always done crafts and has taught me some of the things I know now.

Currently I am working for Advance Auto Parts in sales full-time. In my spare time I do things like crochet, make jewelry, make cards, etc. I recently opened an Etsy store www.CreationsByKT.etsy.com. I am hoping to be able to do some arts and crafts shows soon as well!

This is my first attempt at blogging and I am excited to help others learn about the crafting I do and to learn from my readers as well! I think this will be a fun chapter to add to my life book! :-)
