April and May Dry Erase Menu

I decided to combine the months of April and May on my dry erase menu and use the quote "April showers bring May flowers" to build upon.

If you would like a background on my dry erase menu,
you can view my first blog post on it here:
http://ktscreativeinsights.blogspot.com/2013/01/dry-erase-menu.html

I used a Spring themed 12x12 scrapbook sheet for the background.
I then used a 8x8 sheet for the foreground.
I picked something that had some decoration but was mostly plain in the center so that the menu would be easily read.
I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for the headline
"April Showers Bring May Flowers"
and glued the letters on.
I used paper flowers to accent the headline and the 8x8 paper,
using glittered brads to hold them together and then glue dots to hold them to the paper.

That's our menu for the month of April and May! :)

Grunge Green

Without having much St. Patrick's Day themed items in my craft stash,
I had to get creative.
This time I wanted to use some of my green paper flowers.
I choose a paper that I thought would make them pop and went from there!

Bright, striped grunge background of greens, blues, and browns.
Green, Blue, and tan flowers decorate most of the card.
A few chipboard arrows, circles, and squares decorate around the flowers.
There is a small rectangle that reads "for you".

I love how this card turned out with a grunge look,
but yet still very bright and fun!

This card and many more are available in my Etsy shop

Blue Felt Tree

Robert's Mom's birthday was last month and I wanted to make her something unique.
I have had these styrofoam cones that I had been wanting to try crafting with.
Browsing through Pinterest, I saw quite a few different ideas for trees made from them.
Using those for inspiration, I came up with my own tree idea.

I took the base of a ribbon container and traced circles onto two different shades of blue felt.
I cut the circles out and then attached them to the styrofoam cone,
using sequins pins.
I alternated between putting a seed bead a sequins on the sequins pin and putting a seed bead and a button on the pin.
I found those cute, sparkly blue birds in the dollar bins at Michael's.
I thought they would be a great touch to this project!
I adhered them with glue dots!

Baby Crib

I found a very cute set of baby stickers.
The sheet consisted of a crib, a mobile, and several other small accents.
I bought it with the thought to make a card with them.
This is what I came up with:

I based all my embellishments off of the colors in the crib sticker.
I picked a striped paper that had blues, greens, and yellows in it.
I cut two strips of it and glued them on either side of the card.
I then centered the crib at the bottom of the card,
placing the mobile sticker above it.
I used adhered plaid bows to the bumper of the crib.
I placed yellow pearl stars on top of the bows.
On the mobile, I adhered several pearl stars to make it more three-diminsional.

Cards such as this one are available in my Etsy shop

Dry Erase Menu

So many tutorials lately have included using picture frames as different types of dry erase boards.
We have been trying to create a weekly menu so that we can eat healthier
and do better with our grocery budget.
I love to scrapbook and thought it would be really neat to create a dry erase menu
from a 12x12 picture frame with a different background for every month.

For January I kept with a winter theme.
The background is vintage sleigh paper in blues, browns, and tans.
I then decorated with a pretty blue paper and dark brown paper.
Pretty white winter ribbon was used along with blue sequins ribbon.
The cute little mice are a rub on sticker.
The title is made using metallic letter stickers.

This is now hanging in our kitchen!
My goal is to create a different background for every month!
And to utilize the menu to its full potential of course!!

Christmas Cards with a Winter Chill

These pretty Christmas cards were created with a Winter chill in mind.

I had a Christmas paper pad that I had ordered from Oriental Trading several years ago.
I flipped through that, finding paper that would fit my Wintery theme.
Pretty papers of blues and purples did the trick!
Each card has blue ribbon with snowflakes running across it.
A tag was then adhered. Each tag has a white glittery brad.
Each card has either a snowman with rhinestone buttons or a Christmas ornament with a rhinestone and a "Christmas Wishes" sentiment.
Some of the cards are embellished with chipboard snowflakes with bling or with bows.

Cards, such as the ones above, can be found in my Etsy store

Beginning to Look Like Christmas

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good Sunday and staying safe in anticipation of the storm.

I have began to add Christmas items to my Etsy shop!

I found these really cute Christmas light charms and cookie cutter charms in Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago. I bought them with the anticipation of making wine glass charms!

Here are the results:

They are all available in my Etsy shop
